Few areas offer as much as that of Lake Garda: “The Lake is an intense azure colour, reddening and as clear as a jewel” were the words of Lawrence and like him, many other artists and writers have been enchanted by its beauty, the most well-known being Gabriele d’Annunzio who settled at Gardone Riviera in 1921, in the then “Villa Cargnacco”, transformed later by the same prophetic poet into the Vittoriale monumental complex.  The temperate climate of Lake Garda means that there is the development of luxuriant Mediterranean vegetation – palm, oleander, orange, lemon and olive trees and grapevines etc.  Vines and olives dominate the countryside on the western shores of Lake Garda, producing excellent wines and olive oil. Enjoying the gastronomic specialties of this area, sipping a good bottle of local wine on one of the many terraces with a lake view is just one of the pleasures that Lake Garda has to offer - there are numerous attractions: musical , theatre, wine and gastronomy, sporting and artistic events.  You can visit beautiful tourist areas such as Lazise, Bardolino, Garda, Torri, Malcesine, Brenzone, on the western shore – called the Olive Riviera, Riva del Garda Torbole and Arco to the north.  But also Limone, Tremosine, Tignale, Gargagno, Salò, on the eastern shore – called the Lemon Riviera, Desenzano, Sirmione, Peschiera to the south and you can also visit one of the many amusement parks, such as Gardaland, Caneva, Movie Studios, Sigurtà Park Garden, Zoo Safari Park, and also the thermal parks and the spas.

For your stay, you can choose Belvedere Castle at Desenzano Del Garda – an old 18th century residence with tower dominating the hill, the ancient portal and the silence of 50,000 square metres of Natural Park.  With its olives rocked by the wind on the azure background of the lake, it seems like a real picturesque fresco.  You could also stay in the prestigious residence inside the castle.
