Bergum springs up, almost surprisingly, halfway between a plain and the first rugged hills above Faedis. It is situated in a little wild, secluded part of Friuli, conserving almost intact its rural and hilly countryside.

The fortified complex of Bergum represents a rare example of fortified farm architecture: an ancient castrum , the town walls of which are conserved, the heavy defensive tower and the graceful domus.

After long and laborious restoration, Bergum is a lively place today, home of the farm business that cultivates the grounds surrounding the Golf Training Club.
