A converted ancient monastery of ‘cassinese rule’ Benedictine monks, San Martin Hotel is one of the most important buildings in the historical part of the town and contains the remains of Roman walls and the Palaeolithic-Christian St. Maria basilica – the first Cathedral in Giovinazzo.
The ancient monastery was the centre of religious life and economic power in the past. Today, it is a refined hotel set on different levels with respect to its original architecture.
