Xirumi of Serravalle Castle is a magnificent 16th century construction, for hundreds of years the property of the Barons Grimaldi of Serravalle. Situated on the edge of the Catania plain, it is part of the Lentini territory and, together with the farm business, the estate has one of the largest citrus farms in eastern Sicily.

The property is of great archaeological interest, having a Neolithic necropolis. Access to the castle is through a driveway bordered with palm trees and Mediterranean flora.

The Xirumi castle has an inside courtyard leading to various buildings: a ‘palmento’ (wine-making building), an olive-press building, and a granary store, all perfectly restored and ideal for receptions and congresses of every type and capacity.

The antique furniture is enriched by beautiful trompe-l’oeuil, while the flooring, in Sicilian terracotta, has designs which vary from room to room. Large stone fireplaces warm the lounges. Completing the amenities available at the castle are a beautiful swimming pool with old stables converted into bathrooms and a bar, and a suggestive consecrated chapel.
