Arriving at the court of Federico II in 1240, Sigerio Pepoli, descendant of the famous Saxon King Alfred, was the first Pepoli of the great Bologna house to establish himself in Sicily.
The allegiance and loyalty to the Imperial house guaranteed the title and possessions to the heirs and in 2005, Count Pepoli’s heirs opened the doors of the castle to exclusive guests and to whom he recounts history and legends.
The renovation of the watchtower enables guests to enjoy, from their bedroom, a view which is one of the best and exclusive panoramas in Sicily: to the north the Jurassic dolomite promontory of Monte Cofano, with its multitude of colours and needles (needle-shaped rocks), and going southwards along the coast, the city of Trapani with the Egadi islands on the horizon.
The atmosphere of the rooms, all furnished in Neo-gothic style and with high-quality fabrics, reflects the historical heredity of the place without renouncing modern comforts: private bathroom, air-conditioning, satellite TV. The restaurant salon, with its ancient stone walls and enhanced by prestigious decoration, is the ideal place to enjoy excellent regional cuisine accompanied by local wines.
