The Relais Monaci delle Terre Nere is situated on the slopes of Mount Etna, at about two kilometres from Zafferana Etnea, a small village famous for its honey. The property is set in a marvelous park formed by ancient trees, a true piece of paradise and a place where traditional Sicilian architecture is beautifully melted with contemporary art.
The Relais Monaci delle Terre Nere is a historic building dating from '800, with extraordinary views on the Mount Etna and the Ionian Sea. Organic farming is practised at the property : fresh local fruit, olive oil and excellent Etna wines can be tasted directly in the property's exclusive restaurant.
The Relais has beautiful suites, each of which has maintained its original charme. Lights, colors and scents of Sicily are present in every corner. The rooms all feature original characteristics, such as ceilings with exposed beams, stone walls, balcony or patio overlooking the sea, the beautiful gardens or Mount Etna.
A hearty and genuine buffet breakfast gets served every morning in the part of the property where once the grapes where crushed. The Relais Monaci delle Terre Nere is located at about 35 km from Taormina and at a 40 minutes drive from the Catania airport, reachable by a shuttle service provided by the hotel.
The outdoor pool will be available in late April 2013.
