“Castello di Tornano”, set amongst the undulating hills in the heart of the classical Chianti region, is mentioned in some medieval history books starting from the 9th century. In particular, they mention the deeds of Guarnellotto of Mezzolombardi, first squire of the fortress, and the obstinate resistance that he demostrated towards Emperor Federico Barbarossa.

The imposing structure, testimony of many intrigues, battles, conspiracies and party to numerous clandestine adventures in the course of almost a thousand years, has been lovingly renovated, respecting medieval architectonic traditions.

The elegant bedrooms and suites are distributed between the castle and the tower, and boast sumptuous period furnishings and opulent bathrooms, while the rustic apartments in the converted farm-house are also comfortable, some with fireplaces and some two-level, and are particularly suited for family holidays.

Instead, the luxury suites are the perfect framework for a romantic escape, their names coming from the love between a famous couple of the past, Lancelot and Guinevere or Romeo and Juliet.

The swimming pool is an architectural jewel, built in what was the ancient moat of the castle and gives you moments of relaxation, among the silence and fragrances of Chianti.
