Locanda Ca' Gottardi |
historical building -
Cannaregio, 2283 - 30121 Venice (VE) - Location map |
Started at the wishes of the Costantini family, 4 generations of gondoliers, Cà Gottardi is on the first floor of an old 15th century Venetian building known as Cà Priuli. The building is on one of the most famous routes of Venice, going from Santa Lucia station to Rialto Bridge.
The interior is the result of attentive research on materials and work techniques and great ability in the shape and size of Venetian artistic tradition. One essential and modern design characteristic is the entrance steps in pure white stone with the crystal balustrades on which light plays with shade.
Upon reaching the first floor, guests are welcomed by the particular elegance of Italian design.
The bedrooms of Cà Gottardi, all of the same standard and refinement for an unforgettable stay, have furniture which evokes that noble elegance which made Venice famous all over Europe. The art of the most famous glassware in the world can be seen in the chandeliers and wall-lights, and in the gold-framed mirrors. The parquet flooring is of African wood with warm tones of red and brown and is enhanced by soft carpets.
Cà Gottardi overlooks Rio de Noal with a balcony decorated with a beautiful quadrifora of late 17th century design. Not far from the hotel is the Steamer and Gondola-Ferry stop which allows you to quickly cross the Grand Canal so that you can shortly be among the colours and fragrances of the Rialto Market.
