Picturesque “Villa Milani” was built in 1880 and is situated on the hills near Spoleto. Surrounded by more than eight hectares of green lawns and secular woods, it dominates the city and valley of Assisi from its splendid panoramic position. Giovanni Battista Milani, renowned 20th century architect, chose the Villa as his country house, improving it with his refined taste and passion for art.
Declared ‘Period Residence’ by the Umbrian Region, the fabulous residence boasts a magnificent salon with panelled ceiling decorated in pure old, a huge 16th century fireplace, an ostentatious portal and a library full of antique works.
The luxurious bedrooms, with romantic names of the constellations and stars, such as Cassiopeia, Pegasus, Sirius and Vega, are furnished with valuable period furniture and some also have a Jacuzzi or terraces.
A suggestive stairway leads to the fairytale Orione Tower. The bedroom of this wonderful suite, framed by great picture windows acting as walls and by wooden ceiling trusses, offers an incomparable 360° view over the enchanting Umbrian countryside.
The refined restaurant offers fresh and genuine cuisine, using ingredients from the lawns and gardens of the Villa, such as vegetables and greens from the orchard, fine truffles and mushrooms, wild asparagus and aromatic herbs.
