“Greywalls Hotel” was originally built as an elegant holiday home by the celebrated architect Sir Edwin Lutyens, at the turn of the 20th Century and on the grounds of the championship Golf Course at Muirfield and the Firth of Forth.

Inviting honey coloured stone worked by monks and sourced from the Rattlebags Quarry, special roof pantiles from Denmark, all adorn the unusually crescent shaped house that was one of Lutyens’ favourite projects.

The walled gardens, with their lavender borders, holly hedges and secret hidden enclaves, still maintain all their glorious design, attributed to the renowned landscape artist Gertrude Jekyll.
