Castello Altafiumara is an 18th century Bourbon fortress in the centre of a 17 acre park with lush Mediterranean vegetation: oak trees, Scots pine (P.sylvestrus) and Corsican pine (P.nigra var. Maritima) trees, olive trees, myrtle trees and prickly pear plants.

The castle dominates the marvellous beaches of the Viola coast, named after the colour of the countryside at sunset where Scilla and Cariddi survive from timeless fables.

Nine villas, each with names of the islands surrounding Sicily, are in front of the lake of the nymphs.

Moments of pleasant relaxation can be spent in the elegant rooms, each with patio and private garden or sipping a drink from the wine-bar at the edge of the swimming pool.
