The Castle of Strassoldo di Sopra, like the nearby and contemporary Castle di Sotto, is placed in the center of a delightful medieval hamlet, immersed in the peace of a large secular park washed by crystal clear spring-water streams and rivers.

The two castles are among the few that are still inhabited by the same family that built them more than a thousand years ago, that of the counts of Strassoldo and are so-called ‘water castles’ of the green Friulan flatland spring-water area.
The castle still preserves ancient furniture and ancestor portraits and one breathes the atmosphere of a place where history has never been interrupted.

The counts of Strassoldo have recently restored 6 beautiful guest rooms and a lovely holiday house in the heart of the Castle's "borgo" and now people who love the flair of the past and nature have the possibility to chose between:

a)Accommodation & breakfast in 2 wonderful suites of the ancient tower and 4 romantic rooms in the “Pileria”.
b)Only accommodation in a charming self-catering medieval stone holiday house (4 people) called “La Vicinia”, which has, on the first floor: two double rooms with bathroom – on the ground floor: a sitting/dining room, an equipped kitchen, an arched portico and a private garden.

All the rooms have a wonderful view on the gardens, heating and most of them have air-conditioning. WiFi internet connection is available in the halls.
