Relais Antiche Saline was created in 2005, following the careful and well-done renovation of the ancient Baglio of the Marquises Platamone, situated near the sea, in front of the Egadi Islands archipelago. In the Saline Nature Reserve between Trapani and Marsala, along the fascinating lagoon characterised by the picturesque windmills, the Relais is completely surrounded by the sparkling salt-pans of the ancient salt works built by the Arabs and still cultivated today with manual instruments.

The enchanting location puts guests in a fairy-tale setting which seems to be light-years away from the frenzy of modern life. Like a private and elegant salon, the Baglio overlooks a breathtaking panorama: all the Egadi islands and sea in one sweep of the eye directly in front of the Relais. Wrapped in the silence of the salt-pans, sunset is a magic moment, when the sky becomes orange, red, purple, pale blue, blue and, in the hotter months, the salt reflects all the colours, creating an extremely beautiful play of colours.

In this amazing landscape context, and not far from a 16th century tower built for defence against Saracen attack, the Relais Antiche Saline offers its guests four-star hospitality and catering.
