Villa Guscio-Nicoletti is an elegant aristocratic residence of the 17th-18th centuries, once residence of Baron Francesco Gussio. The resort is near Leonforte, not far from Enna, the ancient ‘Castrogiovanni’, impregnable stronghold in the medieval period.
An imposing two-flight stone stairway leads to the first floor, where frescoes and bas-reliefs of typical baroque taste outline the salons. Refined table ware also reproduce the decoration and colours of the salons: all sealed with creative cuisine by the master-chef who shrewdly combines regional specialities with local and national wines.
One salon, with blue panelled ceiling is equipped for the organisation of meetings. Inside the salons - lit by chandeliers, or on the terrace – refreshed by the nocturnal breezes, it is easy to imagine the mixed wordly and political discussions, but also the secret amorous liaisons, one of which being most popular among the tales of the descendants – that between the same baron and the daughter of Giosuè Carducci.
The ancient renovated wine-making building, where the ‘Torchio di Catone’ (‘Catone Wine-Press’) can be seen, hosts the two suites and the library with family books and documents. Among the facilities offered at the resort are: Equipped Swimming Pools, Tennis Courts, Golf Courses, Water-Skiing, and the “SPA Principessa Angelica”, one of the best wellbeing centres in Sicily.
