A short distance from the enchanting public garden, the ruins of the Greek-Roman Amphitheatre and the greenest area of Taormina, discreetly rises this hotel, built in 1902, and which, during the years, has been renewed without ever detaching from the intimate and friendly atmosphere which stills surrounds it.
With its ochre-yellow walls, its terraced gardens planted with orange and lemon trees, Hotel Villa Belvedere has a somewhat unwanted air of the houses of the past, yet has incomparable comfort.
The simple and welcoming bedrooms overlook almost all of the garden and the bay of Naxos, with the imposing volcano Etna in the background. The Villa is situated in the shelter of the tourist bustle and at the same time only five minutes walk from the picturesque historical centre. Also the funicular railway and the panoramic stone stairway which goes down to the sea are a short distance away.
The hotel, which has independent and shrewd clientele, has for some time adopted the “Bed & Breakfast” formula, and is therefore ideal for those who want to be free of set meal times. However, from April to October there is a good buffet or “à la carte menu” lunch service on the edge of the swimming pool.
The excellent welcome, guaranteed by the Pécaut-Bambara family, make the visitor take away a little of the soul of this suggestive hotel which still has the old fascination of the splendid town of Taormina.
