Palma di Montechiaro, close to Agrigento and the famous Valley oft he Temples, was founded in 1637 by the Tomasi di Lampedusa family. Giuseppe Tomasi drew inspiration from this place - characterised by wind, sun, sea, powerful nature and thousands-of-years history – for his masterpiece Il gattopardo.

On a hill, a few kilometres from the sea, stretches a green oasis, the olive grove where the farm’s products are grown: fine extra-virgin olive oil, preserves and jams/marmalades – expression of the land, the sun and of Sicily.

The Farmhouse has six bedrooms and three suites; the original family furnishings make the environment warm and typically Sicilian, without foregoing modern comforts. The Toll-House has another two bedrooms and from the Robazza tower (the tall, ancient building transformed into a villa), you can enjoy a magnificent view over the valley which stretches to the sea.
Everything is centred on hospitality: the family atmosphere, the excellent home cooking, accompanied by a detailed selection of Sicilian wines from the wine cellars, cooking courses, guided visits around the farm with tastings of olive oil, festivals and boat trips...And from the end of September to the middle of November, you can actively participate in the harvesting and production of your “own olive oil”.

From Mandranova, it is easy to visit the wonderful stretch of the southern coast of Sicily. At Palma di Montechiaro, the Palazzo Ducale and Cathedral stand out, the “Castello” is set on a rocky terrace cliff above the sea. The Valley of the Temples at Agrigento is a must; also not to be missed is the marvellous white beaches of Scala dei Turchi and Eraclea Minoa with its archaeological excavations.
