Created from the restoration of an ancient Roman villa dating from around 100 BC which was used as a convent by the Order of Poor Clares, the property became a noble residence in 1600 and later, at the end of 1800, one of the first hotels in the Sorrento peninsula. The entire area is known worldwide thanks to some scenes of the popular movie "Bread, Love and. .. " with Vittorio de Sica and Sophia Loren.
Since then, the hotel has been carefully renovated and it reopened in 2005, housing warmly decorated rooms for an international luxury tourist-class, all disposing of Jacuzzi and handmade pottery from Vietri.

The Restaurant "L'Accanto" is a must for gourmet lovers. It disposes of a large panoramic terrace with direct view on the Mount Vesuvius, where guests can taste typical local meals accompanied by a fine selection of wines. Our clients will be able to enjoy romantic candlelight dinners, surrounded by the magic lights which get romantically reflected in the beautiful Gulf.

Please note: L’Accanto Restaurant awarded with 1 Michelin star, will be closed for the winter season from the 6th November 2011 to 26th of March 2012. Therefore, during this period, will be guaranteed only the bed and breakfast basis.
