BY CAR
from Rome
Motorway A1, direction Florence;
exit Orte, follow the signs „Perugia“;
go ahead on Superstrada E45 -passing Perugia- , continue in direction Cesena;
exit Bosco – Gubbio, then take the Strada Statale (state road) 298 in direction Gubbio;
after having covered 16 km on the Strada Statale 298 and after the indication „kilometre 27“ on the road table (placed on the left side of the street), on the right side starts the alley leading to Castello di Petroia. Two signs mark the way to the Castle: the first one of brown colour, the second –yellow- one can be seen right at the beginning of the alley.
The alley leading to the Castello is a 1,5 km long, not asphalted road.
Stop in front of the gate and ring the bell.
from Florence
Motorway A1 until you reach the exit Valdichiana;
follow the Motorway link to Perugia;
pass Perugia and go ahead on the Superstrada E45 in direction Cesena;
exit Bosco – Gubbio, then take the Strada Statale (state road) 298 in direction Gubbio;
continue as described above.
from Milan – Bologna
Motorway A1 up to Bologna, go ahead taking the bypass in direction Ancona (A14);
follow the A14 up to Fano; exit Fano, then take the road in direction Rome and head for Gubbio;
after Gubbio follow the Strada Statale (state road) 298 in direction Perugia;
after kilometre 14 (having passed the quarter „Scritto“) starts the alley leading to the Castle;
continue as described above.
