For a start when we arrived our room, for which a deposit had been taken 11 months earlier and for which we had a confirnation booking number for, had been issued to another guest, a wedding party. The reception staff at first were deceptive and tried to provide us with a lesser room that was dirty and still had a unmade bed in it. Then the staff ( management ) refused to find us alternate accommodation when we complained and could NOT be bothered with us. The lesser room was cleaned and after the first night our bed was completely soaked thru' seeing the roof was leaking and cracking up. The maid informed us she had told the management of the problem but they told her to just make the bed. Another room was supplied and this room had a defective bath drain. It was hard to sleep with the drunken wedding guests running around our floor after their reception. When we went to check out of the Hotel we then had to argue as the hotel tried to charge us extra for the room change ( due to their leaking roof ) and were not willing to deduct our previous deposit from the invoice as we never were issued with the room we ordered because they let someone else have it ! . When going to the restaurant we were made to walk in the rain to placate the wedding party etc.. The main problems were the lack of honesty and respect shown by the management to my wife and I. When our room was not secured there was NO apology or even a glass of water offered etc.. We were advised by the wedding party their reservation was made " after " ours so I guess some management decided to dishonour a prior booking and never even bothered to help us find alternate accommodation or advise us of their commercial decision. The only good points a doorman ( a Morrocan gent ), one of the bar staff who spoke English, the Maitre' d of the silver service restaurant and chamber maid were great. The basic staff we found were trying to help and were nice but ineffective due to the management or lack there of. Basically this hotel spoilt our LONG trip from Australia to Italy. I would NOT even give this place a single star rating. |

La struttura è bellissima. Un panorama splendido e gli interni del castello sono davvero meravigliosi. Siamo stati molto bene al centro benessere e al ristorante "La Fucina". Non ci siamo trovati bene al ristorante "Sansovino" per la scarsa cortesia del maitre... |

Everything was great, but we seemed to have a lot of extra time we wish could have been filled easier. The staff was courteous, but had no idea what to recommend other than to get in our car and drive somewhere else. I would have liked to maybe have some nature trails or something aroudn the castle/nice wooded area. I came there to just stay near the hotel and relax, but had a little too much time on my hands. |

We realy liked our stay at our histirical and fantastic hotel. The staff was very serviceminded and helped us with the smallest detail. We had to leave 1 day early but was charged for the extra night. That was very disapointing. The waiters in the restaurant did not speak english, so we had a hard time ordering, but everything came out OK.
Thank you for a pleasant stay. We will absolutely recommend you to out friends. |

il posto è una vera meraviglia, la cortesia è all'altezza di un vero castello, la cucina degna di un grande ristorante di lusso, la zona fitness molto piccola anche se abbastanza curata, ma le camere mi hanno lasciata molto perplessa, piccole, scomode, con un letto che mi ha regalato un fantastico mal di schiena, il frigo bar veramente deludente. nel complesso a parte il mal di schiena penso che ritornerò.
