“Antica Villa Poggitazzi” is situated in a quiet area of the Tuscany countryside, on an ancient pathway of Etruscan origin which crosses Valdarno.

Built in the Longobarda era for military defence purposes, in 1288 it was given to the eminent Florence notary Maffeo di Francesco da Sommaia, whose descendents modified the original aspect with further enlargements and enhancements, such as panelled ceilings and splendid frescoes.

Next to the majestic villa-farm there is an ancient factory for tobacco, linen and silk which is still called “La Fabbrica” today, and where agricultural tradition is maintained with the production of wine and oil.

Renovated, with maximum respect for architectonic form and the enchanting countryside, it has become a high-quality holiday farm, subdivided into comfortable apartments which give the possibility not only to stay in a relaxing context among nature, but also to appreciate the fascinating environment of a place that is rich in history, culture and natural beauty.

The welcoming apartments can host from two to six people, are equipped with every modern amenity and comfort and are furnished in a typical Tuscan style, representing the ideal place to have an unforgettable time in a completely relaxing atmosphere.
