The Principe Di Scilla is a refined 4-star hotel located in a restored noble period residence, nestled in the ancient and picturesque fishing village of Chianalea, in Scilla. The property boasts an exceptional location, literally 'immersed in the water,' with spectacular views of the Tyrrhenian Sea, the village, and the nearby Ruffo Castle. The hotel combines the elegance of the Baroque style and period details with modern comforts, offering a charming and romantic stay in Calabria.
The bright rooms and exclusive Suites are decorated in a classic style, enhanced by antique furniture and regal details, preserving the charm of the ancient residence. Many accommodations, including the Junior Suites and Suites, offer balconies with panoramic or partial sea views that overlook the fishermen's boat houses. All rooms are equipped with air conditioning, TV with digital channels, mini-bar, safe, and free Wi-Fi. Bathrooms include bathrobes and complimentary toiletries.
The gastronomic highlight is the Principe di Scilla Restaurant, specializing in Italian cuisine and, in particular, in local dishes and fresh seafood, such as the renowned Scilla swordfish. The restaurant offers the unique opportunity to have lunch or dinner on a charming wooden terrace built over the sea (open seasonally), with an enchanting view of the Castle and the village. Guests also appreciate the rich buffet breakfast, featuring an excellent selection of homemade desserts.
The hotel features a cozy Bar and Lounge that offers a relaxing atmosphere, ideal for enjoying a drink, cocktail, or evening aperitif. The common areas, including the period-style lounges, maintain the regal tone of the noble residence. The location in the heart of Chianalea allows guests easy access to the village's artisan shops and typical restaurants.
Services include a 24-hour reception, luggage storage, and laundry service. Being located in a Limited Traffic Zone (ZTL) typical of the village, car access is not always easy, but the hotel offers assistance and support for reaching the property. A shuttle service is available to/from nearby parking lots or other destinations (for a fee and upon request). Marina Grande Beach in Scilla is about a 10-minute walk away.

His Opinion: Dear management and reservation department,
A week ago we indeed stayed in your hotel. It is a wonderful place and our room was the best.
However we have some comments we would like to share with you, since they were quite obvious and we think it is good for you to know how guests experience your hotel.
First of all the breakfast was excellent the first time, but only a minor experience the next morning. It is obvious that not all employees know what to do
All restaurants had their terraces ready for the season. Only yours was not open yet and the one belonging to the Pirates restaurant was a mess with wooden boards, tables upside down, etc
Only on our last day we discovered two good restaurants nearby, we thought it is a missed point that you did not tell us more – only the Pirates was pointed out
Not that we really care about these things, but there were no covers for any teapot and the toilet action was broke. These minor things also emphasize the fact that the price/quality balance is not good. We paid a high price for the room and that did not match the quality quite well.
However we want to stress the good qualities and friendliness of your colleague from Iceland, she really did her best to make our stay comfortable. Her service was very good.
Hopefully these remarks help you to improve the quality of your wonderful hotel.
Kind regards, Karen Ekker
