Built on the ruins of a Roman villa, Castelluccia Castle is among green countryside, a few kilometres north of Rome. Surrounded by woods and Italian gardens, the perfect refuge for a relaxing holiday or weekend.
The castle has various terraces: the Magnolia Terrace which overlooks the Orange Garden; the Fountain Terrace surrounded by old pine trees; the Count’s Terrace, ideal for refreshments or aperitifs; the Tower Terrace for Tower Suite guests’ exclusive use and from where you can see the sea on clear days.
The “La Locanda” restaurant is splendid with its light medieval architecture: cross vault arched ceilings, semi-circular stone arches, original terracotta flooring and a large fireplace - all creating a fascinating environment.
Facilities are: half-Olympic size swimming pool surrounded by rich vegetation of palm trees, privets and cedars; health centre, a little oasis of pleasure where you can relax by immerging yourself in the bubbling waters of the Jacuzzi or the warm vapours of the Turkish bath; and four of the area’s best golf clubs a few kilometres from the castle

Positioned in the most ancient areas of the Castle, they may have high windows with limited view, but their strong point is certainly their intimacy and tranquillity. They have the unmistakable style of the Castle, elegant and understated, with all amenities intact.
These rooms are scrupulously presented, so that the refined comfort does not clash with the magic atmosphere of the Castle. With parquet or terracotta floor, bathroom with bathtub or shower, each room differs from the others, and they provide a pleasant succession of surprises.
Particularly inviting because of the presence of a mini hydromassage pool in majolica, which makes the stay particularly intimate and relaxing.

For those who desire even greater comfort, these suites have a double bedroom and a sitting-room with a third bed. It is also possible to add a cot, making them particularly suitable for families of four. The bathroom has a bathtub. Combined with some Classic rooms, one of the Suites can be turned into an apartment able to house a family of five plus a baby in the cot.
Separate from the main body of the Castle, the suites are housed in a charming and attractive little villa about 30 metres away. Decorated with trompe l’oeil on a hunting theme, the suites have a small private garden.
With its single large room, expertly furnished, the ‘Manzolini’ Suite will welcome you on cold winter days with the warmth from its large perfectly functioning fireplace.
In the warm days of summer on the other hand it is pleasant to enjoy the efficient air conditioning system, which is present in all rooms in the Castle.

The Torre (Tower) Suite is located in the most ancient part of the Castle, and is spread over three levels. On the first level there is a welcoming sitting-room and the bathroom with shower.
On the second level is the room with the bed in Franciscan style and fireplace perfectly set into a column.
At the top is the ‘Terrace of the Tower’, with a panoramic view that on the clearest days allows you to glimpse the sea in the distance.

His Opinion: Un posto certamente incantevole dove però io, per la mia personale esperienza di soggiorno, devo registrare un giudizio negativo dovuto ai seguenti motivi: prenoto due camere, una suite per me e mia moglie e l'altra camera per i miei due figli, facendo anche una cena nella struttura. Il motivo del soggiorno era dovuto al desiderio di offrire a mia moglie una giornata di relax, usufrendo della SPA. Giunti in hotel mi viene subito comunicato che la SPA è fuori uso (mi sarebbe piaciuto essere avvisato per tempo anziché avere questa sorpresa al momento del mio arrivo!). Ma... pazienza. La sera ceniamo nella struttura e poi andiamo a dormire. Ed è qui che arriva l'incubo: in piena notte, nella suite dove alloggiavamo io e mia moglie, ci svegliamo sudati a causa del climatizzatore non funzionante. La giornata era torrida. Chiamiamo la reception e chi ci risponde - una persona assolutamente gentile e disponibile - ci informa che a quell'ora della notte non è possibile riparare il guasto al climatizzatore e l'unica soluzione sarebbe cambiare camera, andando in una camera che però era fuori dalla struttura. Ovviamente, essendo le 4 del mattino, abbiamo pensato che rifare le valigie e spostarsi in un'altra camera, uscendo fuori dalla struttura, sarebbe stato inutile visto l'orario. Così proseguiamo nel bagno di sudore e nel disagio per un altro paio d'ore, dopodiché la mattina lasciamo l'hotel facendo presente il tutto. Ci viene detto dagli operatori della reception che certamente avrei ricevuto una telefonata dal Direttore, giacché si era capito che il mio soggiorno era stato compromesso. Beh... passano le settimane e non ricevuto nessuna telefonata. La faccio io, allora, chiedendo come mai il Direttore non mi avesse ancora contattato. Mi sarei infatti aspettato quanto meno il rimborso della suite... non dico tutto il soggiorno, ma quanto meno quello me lo sarei aspettato. Faccio una seconda telefonata alla struttura per chiedere come mai il Direttore non mi avesse contattato e mi viene risposto di attendere, che certamente mi chiamerà. Sono passati due mesi ormai, e nessuno ha più chiamato. Conclusioni: un vero peccato che una struttura così bella si perda in un bicchier d'acqua, non tanto per gli imprevisti (ben due nel mio caso) ma per non aver saputo gestirli. Il rimborso che mi sarei aspettato non è mai giunto, e nemmeno una telefonata! Una grande struttura che si perde in cose così piccole....

His Opinion: Wonderful return visit. The room was beautiful (but needed a second luggage holder) and the dinners were terrific. The pool area is very inviting (but pool itself was closed for the season). Our only complaint, and a common one on Trip Advisor, was that the music played constantly in the dining room is annoying and too loud. No need for the music!
The staff was exceptional and helpful arranging their shuttle to the train and elsewhere. The shower head was broken and caused a flood each time and should be replaced with a try overhead in any case. Overall, we love this hotel!

His Opinion: Unfortunately the stay was somewhat marred by a group of Finnish people who had taken half of the rooms at the Castello and felt entitled to shout and scream up until 3 in the morning. Lucca, Front desk supervisor handled the situation well, but in situations like these, the head of the group must be advised beforehand of the consequences, especially when they were seen drinking copiously in the afternoon in public places.
The property is beautifully situated and the staff was welcoming. A shame that on our last leg of the trip we were dealing with this unforseen circumstance.

Poca pazienza da parte del personale, mi e' stato ricordato il prezzo delle camere per tre volte di continuo per giustificare la sostituzione della suite per camere meno eleganti della mia soffitta. Mai piu' in questo posto.

His Opinion: Lumpy matress aside, the biggest problem was how hot and stuffy the room was. The front desk explained it was "winter" (end of Oct) so there was heat only. But it was warm inside and out. "Open the window" I was told, but there is no screen (plenty of flies) and a loud wedding/cleanup right outside. Ah, Italy. Hard to get to but beautiful once found. Surly then friendly valets - outstanding front desk service. Would have loved to have explored the grounds and building, but the wedding precluded that, meaning half the fun of the experience was barred.

His Opinion: Literie de la suite dépendance très dure - le lit pour la troisième personne très bas et inconfortable - la dépendance située en dehors du château n'est pas au niveau de la catégorie d'hôtel - robineterie de la baignoire à revoir - enfin pas de connexion WI FI et pas de câble possible pour l'internet - enfin aucune chaine de TV française par le satellite - en dehors de ces points, lieu très calme, piscine extra, personnel sympathique, très bons petits déjeuners - la carte des menus est un peu décevante par rapport au prix et à la qualité de la cuisine proposée.

His Opinion: Struttura stupenda, cucina ricercata e servita in maniera impeccabile.
Ho soggiornato in una Camera Deluxe, molto spaziosa e ben arredata.
Ottima posizione per visitare Roma, a circa 10km.
L'unica cosa che magari non entusiasma al 100% è il centro benessere, ma quello è un surplus, inoltre chi soggiorna d'estate può usufruire anche della piscina all'aperto!
Lo consiglio assolutamente, soprattutto per un weekend romantico.

His Opinion: The staf was kind, but no more than they had to be. We had the feeling of "oh, are you guests at our hotel". We are by this meaning to say that you have to take better care of your guests.
The food was marvelous! Our regards to the shef!
All in all we are satisfied with our stay, but we felt a bit left alone :-)
