Il Borgo Country Resort lies in Castiglione di Sicilia, among vineyard rows and dry‑stone walls at the foot of Mount Etna. Restored rural houses welcome guests with a genuine atmosphere of quiet air, open skies and views over the Alcantara valley.
Set across the hamlet’s historic buildings, rooms pair local materials—lava stone, natural woods, simple textiles—with essential comforts. Each space preserves the unhurried rhythm of the Etnean countryside.
Pergolas, citrus groves and outdoor corners provide shaded places to read or unwind after a day of exploration. Light shifts across the stone, revealing the colours of the rural landscape.
Mornings feature seasonal produce from the area: citrus preserves, Nebrodi honey and hazelnuts, traditional breads and pastries.
An ideal base to explore Etna DOC wineries, lava flows and terraced vines. Cellar visits and tastings reveal the region’s distinctive, mineral profile.
Close by are the Alcantara Gorges and the trails of Etna Park. Medieval villages, viewpoints and vine‑covered hills invite hiking, cycling and scenic stops.

His Opinion: This is a terrific rest-house from which to do other activities. It is set in the Alcantara Valley with the sound of rushing water below. Set in the valley, it has wonderful views. Staff are excellent! Parking is good (off road) but carrying luggage to one's room from the car park can take strength! Restaurant was good, honest food.

His Opinion: Delicious food and delightful staff especially Simona and the head waiter. Cleaning lady worked very hard too !
Only downside is that to get to main bedrooms there are so many steps down and up each way so not good with a bad foot / ankle. Not mentioned on website at all also the shower in the suite
