Locanda Palazzone is an exclusive boutique hotel located in Rocca Ripesena, just 5 km from the historic center of Orvieto, in Umbria. This charming historic residence dates back to the 13th century and was originally an "hospitalis" for pilgrims and prelates heading to Rome, built on the occasion of the first Jubilee. Today, the Locanda is a luxurious Wine Resort nestled within 50 hectares of proprietary vineyards, from which the excellent Palazzone wine is produced.
Charming Suites and Historic Design
Locanda Palazzone offers only 7 elegant and spacious Suites, the result of meticulous restoration that has preserved the original architectural elements of the 14th century (such as arches, exposed beams, and terracotta floors), blending them with modern and minimalist furnishings. The accommodations, some on two levels (Duplex) and named after the Popes who stayed there, are all air-conditioned, soundproofed, and offer a splendid panoramic view of the surrounding countryside, the vineyard, and the cliff of Orvieto.

The resort is an oasis of relaxation and wine culture. Guests can enjoy the seasonal outdoor swimming pool, strategically positioned to offer a breathtaking view of the vineyards and the valley. The food and wine experience is central: the structure offers a restaurant with a set menu (open every evening except Monday) proposing dishes from the Umbrian tradition with fresh garden products, paired with Palazzone wines. Winery tours, tastings, and guided tours of the historic Grotta del Musco are also available.
