To describe the Pantellaria Dream Exclusive Hotel is a difficult task, as is also to describe the fascinating island of Pantelleria, the largest of the Sicilian archipelago which is only 70 miles from the African coast and is one of the few still-preserved natural paradises.
Built in the best amphitheatre of the island, underneath the elephant arch, the facade could not have been completely covered with anything else than dark stone, in harmony with the characteristic lava rock which is predominant everywhere, and which has led to Pantelleria being called ‘Black Pearl of the Mediterranean’.
“Only the pencil of an architect whose blood was part volcanic lava, could have designed with such sensitivity and mastery” – a hotel which blends so perfectly with the extraordinary nature of the place and captures the visitor’s eye, constantly and wherever it looks, with a triumphal rejoicing of colours: the silvery-grey of the olive trees, the green of the grapevines, the violet of the bougainvilleas, the black of the buildings, the azure of the sea….
