Santellone Resort: Historic Charm and Spa in Brescia
The Santellone Resort is a refined four-star hotel located just minutes from the center of Brescia. The building stands on an ancient 15th-century Benedictine monastery, of which it preserves the historic architecture and atmosphere. The Resort is an oasis of tranquility that combines the charm of history with modern comforts. Its location offers quick access to the city center.
Rooms and Suites: Sober Elegance
The Resort features 49 rooms and 3 suites, all decorated with sober elegance and attention to detail. The accommodations are distributed between the ancient Monastery wing and the modern wing. Rooms in the historic wing retain the original exposed beams, while those in the new wing offer a more contemporary style. All include free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, and a mini-bar. The suites offer larger spaces and a separate living area.
Santellone Spa: Total Wellness
The flagship of the Resort is the Santellone Spa, a complete wellness center offering a total regeneration journey. The Spa includes a heated indoor pool with hydro-massage, sauna, Turkish bath, emotional showers, and a relaxation area with a tea corner. Guests can also use the solarium and request massages and aesthetic treatments. Access to the Spa is subject to an extra charge.
Quality Dining
The gastronomic offer is managed by the Il Monastero Restaurant, which proposes creative cuisine inspired by the Brescian and Lombard tradition, using fresh and seasonal products. The restaurant, set in a suggestive historic environment, is also ideal for events. His Opinion: We regularly book hotels via icastelli. The Santellone disappointed us and we cannot recommend the hotel to anyone.
A few impressions:
Breakfast, on Sunday until 10.30am: we arrived at 10.00, 30 minutes before closing time.
There was no more bread, among other discrepancies. When we asked for it, we were told it would take 30 minutes and they didn't make any more bread. "I'm sorry... "
Fruit: the plate was nearly empty. We asked again - no more fruit. The cornflakes were obviously not refilled for ages and were partly completely or practically empty. The next day, the empty box was not refilled, as one would expect, but at least completely removed. Regrettable. We have documented the situation in pictures.
Pool: We also chose the Hotel Santellone to use the pool and relax. To our surprise, the pool doesn't open until 2pm during the week, as the pool attendant told us.
On Sunday, the pool is open from 10 am to 7 pm. At 6.45 pm we were told by the pool attendant to leave the pool area. "Today we close earlier..." This is an unprecedented presumption.
The offer is completely inadequate and the behaviour of the management involved is out of order. We also made the complaint in person and wanted to speak to the manager of the hotel and the pool. Both were of course not on site and not available...
The hotel and its management needs an urgent review and is unworthy of an icastelli.

His Opinion: Bella struttura polifunzionale con spazi esterni ampli e godibili, quelli interni sono invece più sacrificati (reception minimalista, tavolini colazione un po' sottodimensionati). Accesso carrabile non individuato facilmente al nostro arrivo. Parcheggio esterno affollatissimo. Garage indisponibile. Personale cortesissimo ed efficiente. Funzionalità dell'ascensore perfezionabile (pulsante senza memoria di piano da mantenere schiacciato per tutto il tragitto dell'ascensore). Arredamento camera superior moderno ma troppo essenziale (una sola sedia/poltroncina per due persone). Assortimento pane prima colazione migliorabile.

His Opinion: L'ambiance est très paisible, champêtre et avec beaucoup de charme. Service des chambres parfait. Le rapport qualité/prix est parfait! Les alentours offrent plein de possibilités de belles balades. Un lieu magique à recommander.
Seul bémol le service du petit déjeuner, le personnel est trop pressé de desservir et stresse un peu le client (mais rien de grave).
Dans l'ensemble PARFAIT, bravo!

His Opinion: Un remanso de paz. La pena que el espacio SPA no estuviera abierto en agosto. Estamos deseando volver pronto. Todo perfecto. Desayunar en la terraza ha sido todo un placer. El personal exquisito.
