Surrounded by the Abruzzese hills, at the Apennines mountainside lies the medieval town Santo Stefano di Sessanio where the Sextantio Albergo Diffuso is located, a project that aims at the requalification and restoration of the ancient towns in the Abruzzo region.
The property includes some of the most representative buildings of the town, where guests can live the magical atmosphere of the past and enjoy an extraordinary hospitality. The most particular characteristic of the Sextantio Albergo diffuso is indeed the authenticity of its spaces which is perfectly melted with modern comforts and design. All rooms are furnished with original pieces of furniture, starting from the fireplaces and the wood ceilings, which are combined with modern accessories such as the remote-controlled illumination system or the floor heating.
The “Locanda sotto gli Archi” is the restaurant of the property, a restored wine cellar in which all pieces of furniture consist in local handmade products.
The cuisine offers the best of the local and regional tradition and the menus follow the seasonal collection of product choices, offering dishes from century-old recipes.
The central position of Santo Stefano di Sessanio allows its guests to easily reach the most important art and culture sites, the ski pistes and also to practice many sport activities, such as horse riding or hang-gliding.

His Opinion: A very enjoyable and interesting experience, not far from Rome but a world away, perfect for a couple of days including the very scenic walk to the Rocca and the local food. Staff were helpful and accommodating.
Bed and pillows could be a bit more comfortable.

His Opinion: Posto splendido e sistemazione eccellente. Un'unica nota, forse, sul ristorante: di alta qualità ma probabilmente un pò caro, anche perché non presenta alternative nel menù. Ma è proprio un dettaglio.
