The Borgo Di Pietrafitta Relais is an ancient medieval hamlet dating back to the 13th century, carefully restored and transformed into a charming hospitality complex. Located in Castellina in Chianti, in the heart of Tuscany, it offers a unique combination of rustic Tuscan-style apartments (residence) and B&B rooms, immersed in an iconic landscape of vineyards, olive groves, and woods. It is the ideal place to experience the authentic atmosphere of Chianti Classico.
The accommodations are divided between rooms in B&B formula (located in the main building) and spacious apartments (created from the village houses). The style is rustic-elegant, with original elements such as exposed wooden beams, terracotta floors, and stone fireplaces. They are designed to guarantee independence and comfort, in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
The Borgo is at the center of an agricultural estate that produces extra virgin olive oil and Chianti Classico DOCG. Guests have the opportunity to participate in guided wine and oil tastings directly on site. The rich buffet breakfast is included for B&B guests, while genuine Tuscan cuisine is available for everyone, ideal for convivial evenings and typical Tuscan dinners.
The highlight of the relais is the magnificent panoramic swimming pool located at the highest point of the hamlet, with an unrivaled view of the Chianti hills. This area is the heart of summer relaxation. The structure also has large gardens, panoramic terraces, and common areas that invite rest and contemplation of the landscape.
The location is perfect for exploring the Chianti Golden Triangle (Castellina, Radda, Gaiole) and the Tuscan art cities. It is halfway between Florence and Siena, making it an excellent starting point for cultural excursions and food and wine tours.

His Opinion: The Borgo di Pietrafitta was exactly what we were looking for. A nice and quiet place in a nice village in the marvelous chianti. We liked Florence but too busy, full of turists. We prefered Sienne.

His Opinion: When we checked in, we were told we might want to check out the night before. When we tried to do this, we were told it was too late (15 minutes before closing) and to come back the next day. Also, guests are asked to take their own trash to the dumpsters at the end of the road. We had to hold the bags outside our car to avoid making a mess and it was physically difficult. What was general a very pleasant stay ended on the wrong note. It would be a great idea for them to change this policy.

His Opinion: We had a wonderful time at Borgo di Pietrafitta. The proprietors were friendly and helpful, the property is beautiful and very well maintained. Our apartment was comfortable, spacious and provided for everything we expected.
The nearby village of Castalina in Chianti is wonderful, and just one of an almost endless number of Tuscan villages and cities within short distance.
This is our favorite part of Italy and we would return to Borgo di Pietrafitta without hesitation.
