Cetara is an enchanting, authentic fishing village tucked into a coastal cove along the UNESCO-listed Amalfi Coast. Unlike its bustling neighbors Positano and Amalfi, Cetara has successfully preserved its timeless soul tied to seafaring life, pastel-colored houses clinging to the hillsides, and the imposing Viceregal Tower standing guard over the shore. World-famous for its centuries-old tuna and anchovy fishing heritage, it offers travelers a relaxed, genuine, and romantic atmosphere—making it the perfect destination for those seeking a charming getaway on the Italian coastline.

What to See: History, Art & Coastal Beaches

• Viceregal Tower (Torre Vicereale) – A 16th-century coastal watchtower overlooking the harbor; our travel designers recommend visiting at sunset for a magical photo opportunity against the glowing sea.
• Marina Beach & Lannio Beach – Picturesque pebble beaches and hidden coves flanked by dramatic cliffs, perfect for swimming in crystal-clear waters and sunbathing.
• Church and Convent of San Francesco – A historic 14th-century monastery complex featuring a serene cloister, elegant frescoes, and sacred artwork.
• Church of Saint Peter the Apostle – The town's main parish church, crowned by a stunning majolica-tiled dome that shines brightly under the Mediterranean sun.

Gastronomy & Local Delicacies

• Cetara Anchovy Colatura (Colatura di Alici DOP) – The culinary crown jewel of Cetara: an amber liquid seasoning produced from salted anchovies, direct heir to ancient Roman garum.
• Spaghetti with Anchovy Colatura – The signature dish of the village. We recommend pairing a dinner at a harborfront trattoria with a glass of crisp local Falanghina wine for an unforgettable culinary experience.
• Red Tuna of Cetara – Caught using sustainable traditional methods and served seared, marinated, or preserved in fine olive oil.
• Stuffed Anchovies (Alici Mbottonate) – Delicious local anchovies stuffed with smoked provola cheese, lightly breaded, and fried to golden perfection.
• Limoncello & Amalfitan Lemons – Refreshing citrus digestif crafted from hand-harvested lemons grown on steep terraced orchards.
