Taroudant is a traditional market town located in the Souss Valley, southern Morocco, nestled between the High Atlas and the Anti-Atlas mountains. It is often called the 'Granddaughter of Marrakech' due to its imposing red-ochre walls, about 7.5 km long, which enclose an authentic and vibrant historic centre. Unlike the more frequented Imperial Cities, Taroudant offers a more genuine Moroccan experience, focused on local life, Berber craftsmanship, and its two bustling souks.

• Argan Oil – The Souss region is the heart of this precious oil's production. You can taste the food version and buy the cosmetic one.
• Tajine with Prunes and Almonds – A specialty of the South, balancing the sweetness of dried fruits with meat (lamb or beef).
• Almonds and Saffron – High-quality agricultural products from the region. Buying local saffron in the souk is a must.
