The Relais Borgo Petrognano is a charming 4-star resort located in Barberino Val D’Elsa (Barberino Tavarnelle), in the heart of the Chianti Classico hills, between Florence and Siena. Housed in an ancient estate dating back to the 13th century, the relais combines the history and rural Tuscan architecture with discreet luxury and modern amenities. Surrounded by a breathtaking landscape of olive groves, vineyards, and typical Tuscan countryside, it is a true oasis of peace and relaxation.
The strength of Borgo is its seasonal outdoor swimming pool, positioned on a natural terrace that offers a spectacular view of the entire valley. Ideal for cooling off and enjoying the Tuscan sun, the pool is flanked by a well-equipped sunbathing area. For complete wellness, the relais features a small but curated Beauty Spa (service upon request), where guests can enjoy personalized massages and treatments for the relaxation and harmony of body and mind.
The property, which offers a limited number of accommodations to ensure intimacy, has undergone a radical restoration that has maintained intact the rustic details (such as exposed beams and terracotta floors) while introducing modern comforts. Accommodations include Rooms, Suites, and an Independent Villa (Villa Cecilia). The rooms are furnished in antique style, many with period furniture, and offer air conditioning and free Wi-Fi. The Borgo is pet-friendly upon request and gladly welcomes pets (a small surcharge may apply).
The day begins with a rich and varied buffet breakfast, featuring a wide selection of cakes, biscuits, cold cuts, and cheeses, including fresh products and options for allergies (such as gluten and lactose). Although it does not have a fixed restaurant for dinner, the property is renowned for organizing culinary experiences, such as private dinners, local wine and oil tastings (wine-tasting and oil-tasting tours), and cooking classes, allowing guests to immerse themselves in Tuscan wine and food traditions.
